Boston University Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER)



The Boston University Center for Aging and Disability Education and Research (CADER) has developed several online courses for professional staff working within the PA Area Agencies on Aging. These courses include:

  • Pennsylvania Core Training (REQUIRED ONLINE COURSE)
  • Pennsylvania State Assessor Training (REQUIRED ONLINE COURSE)
  • A Foundation in Ethics, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
  • Legal Principles & Decision Making in Practice

In addition to the two required online courses, PA workers now have the opportunity to enroll in two additional online courses. Each self-paced online course will take 2 to 5 hours to complete and learners will have access to each online course for 1 year from enrollment. Registration and Enrollment

To access these online courses, please see your supervisor. You will need to register with the Boston University CADER to create an account and enroll in a program. Account registration is automatic; however there is a 10 minute delay between enrollment and accessing online courses. Instructions for registering and enrolling in the Pennsylvania Online Training Program are available on the Pennsylvania Training Portal.

Please remember to enter the Pennsylvania discount code to override payment. Ask your supervisor or check the Pennsylvania Enrollment Guide for the code!
